Over the last century or so churches and pastors outsourced counseling to non-Christian psychologists or the local Christian counselor. But in recent years Jay Adams has been used to start a movement restoring counseling to the local church. This has been a much needed change.
I personally have benefitted from being trained to do counseling from the Scriptures. Our church has been strengthened greatly by it. I recommend all Christians, especially pastors and leaders to become equipped with these and similar resources.
