  • What does the name "Koinos" mean?

Koinos is the Greek word found in Acts 2:44 where the early church was said to have shared “all things in common”. Koinos means common or shared together. This is what God designed the church to be. This is what we desire to be…doing life together as followers of Jesus.
  • What kind of church is Koinos?

Koinos is a Bible-centered church teaching the evangelical doctrines of the Christian faith. We cooperate with a nationwide association of churches, the Southern Baptist Convention.
  • What is the Southern Baptist Convention?

It is an association of approximately 40,000 churches who cooperate voluntarily for the purpose of reaching the world with the Gospel. In partnership with these churches we help support the International Mission Board and over 5,000 missionaries around the world.
  • When is your worship service?

We worship at 10:30 am on Sundays.
  • Do you have Sunday school or Bible study groups?

Yes, we have LIFE Groups that meet weekly for Bible study, fellowship, prayer and encouragement of one another. Groups meet at various times and places throughout the week.
  • What's available for kids?

Groups are offered on Sunday mornings for infants through sixth grade. Families are always welcome to keep their children with them in the service, if they prefer. We encourage families to worship together! Otherwise, we strive to provide a safe environment where kids are taught God’s word. All volunteers are required to go through an application process and background check. We hold Summer Kids Club (Vacation Bible School) mid-July for additional discipleship of our kids as well as outreach to the community.
  • What's available for teenagers?

Our youth are led by a great couple, Nathan and Erika Cargle. Elevate (youth group) meets on Sunday nights at 6:00 at Grant Street, studying God's Word, eating snacks, connecting with each other. The youth plan various activities throughout the year including a week of summer camp at Seneca Lake Baptist Assembly.
  • What is your worship style like?

We have a contemporary worship style, led by a full band. You can expect songs by Chris Tomlin, Third Day, and others, plus an occasional hymn. You should not expect to see suits and ties.
