Outreach and Missions

At Koinos, we strive to take the Great Commission seriously: “Go therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age.” (Matt. 28:19-20) We believe, as John Piper says, we should,” Go. Send. Or Disobey.” Locally, we hold block parties throughout the year to share God’s love and His gospel with our community. We invite kids in the community to attend our Summer Kids Club, where they learn God’s truths in a fun environment. We have a food pantry to help, physically and spiritually, those in need. We participate in building projects around our state with the “Buckeye Builders.” Various members and groups within our church also serve in nursing homes and detention centers. A portion of tithes and offerings is given to our local association, the Greater Dayton Association of Baptists, to support church plants across Ohio.

A portion of tithes and offerings also goes to the International Mission Board, to support missionaries across the globe. Through the International Mission Board, Southern Baptists support 4,850 missionaries in different countries. In 2011, Southern Baptists saw 333,341 new believers baptized!
